These artists transformed a former prison into a colorful home for refugees

United Painting is a creative laboratory run by Dutch artists Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn. In 2005, they realized their first project, painting a large artwork with members of a local community in Rio de Janeiro.

Over the years, they realized multiple but always colorful works pursuing the idea of community-driven art.

One of their latest projects took place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands where the artists were invited to paint a former prison that would become home to refugees affected by various humanitarian crisis.
